Casualty sparks talk of slow US commercial turn

After a mixed 1 January renewal for reinsurers, signs are emerging of improving prospects for underwriters in the US commercial insurance sector as traction begins to build slowly on pricing.
And in common with the reinsurance market, it appears casualty and professional liability lines are looking relatively positive, despite predictions that property rates would show the greater reaction following the deluge of 2017 catastrophes.
