AmTrust soars over bid price, pulls up Maiden too

AmTrust shares surged past the $12.25 buy-out offer announced late Tuesday to close well above that price, while sister companies Maiden Holdings and National General also posted gains today.
Shares of the AmTrust ended the day in New York up 25 percent at $12.69, or 3.6 percent above the offer presented by Stone Point Capital and the Karfunkel-Zyskind family to take the company private. The shares continued to rise in after-hours trading as well, reaching as much as $13.09.
